ABSTRACT

In this paper, we reported on the lattice distortion, surface morphologies, vacancy defects and electrochemical performance that had been observed in Na3V2(PO4)2F3 prepared at different annealing temperatures. X-ray diffraction indicated that all the samples were single phase materials with tetragonal structure and exhibited lattice distortion with the increase of annealing temperatures. A possible mechanism causing the strain-induced lattice distortion had been discussed. Moreover, scanning electron microscopy and positron annihilation techniques were used to study the grain size and vacancy defects as a function of annealing temperatures. The superior electrochemical performance of Na3V2(PO4)2F3 electrode was obtained at the annealing temperature of 350 degrees C with 167.73 F center dot g-1 specific capacitance and 85% capacitance retention. The better electrochemical performance was due to the synergistic effects of grain size and vacancy defect regulated by the annealing temperatures. These results could provide experimental basis for enhancing electrochemical performance of Na3V2(PO4)2F3 in sodium-ion battery area applications. (c) 2023 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

ABSTRACT

The global novel coronavirus pandemic has caused a surge in the use of masks worldwide. A large number of used masks that have not been properly handled enter the environment, which caused and will cause serious ecological problems. The purpose of this study is to propose a solution to the problem of mask management from the perspective of science of design, and to build a good mask recycling service design strategy through the combination of design and psychology. Firstly, based on the theory of behavioral environment and field investigation, this study analyzes the correlation between the existing mask recycling device and its recycling efficiency, user behavior psychology and environment, and studies the behavioral scene of mask recycling, and then establishes the center of design strategy implementation. Secondly, a visual guidance system is designed, as is a special recycling device for masks by color psychology and product design. Thirdly, combined with the concept of social innovation service design, the design of a mask recycling strategy is conceived, and the optimization and formulation of mask recycling strategy is demonstrated through stakeholders, user journey maps and service flow charts. Finally, the design strategy is hierarchically established, and the feasibility analysis system model of a mask recycling strategy design is constructed. The data collection is carried out through expert interviews and questionnaires, and the weight is calculated by a fuzzy analytic hierarchy process. The final output comprehensive evaluation results show that the mask recycling strategy constructed in this study has public recognition.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To analyze the performance of emergency response to 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) positive cases in an international test competition in an Winter Olympic Game venue and provide evidences for the COVID-19 prevention and control in similar competitions. Methods: A retrospective analysis on the epidemiological investigation and nucleic acid test results of the cases, the implementation of prevention and control measures, including the communication with sport teams and others, was conducted. Results: The positive cases of 2019-nCoV among entering people were detected before entry, at airport, hotel and venue. Two positive cases were reported before entry, 2 positive cases infected previously and 3 asymptomatic cases were reported after the entry. The venue public health team and local CDC conducted epidemiological investigation and contact assessment jointly in a timely and efficient manner. No local secondary transmission occurred, but the nucleic acid test results of positive persons fluctuated, posing serious challenges to the implementation of prevention and control measures. Conclusion: In large scale international competition, there is high risk of imported COVID-19. It is necessary to fully consider the fluctuation of nucleic acid test results, the criteria for determination and cancellation of positive results and give warm care to positive cases in the emergency response.

ABSTRACT

Campylobacter is one of the most common foodborne pathogens worldwide. A new smartphone-assisted high-throughput integrated color-sensing platform, called the HICS platform, was developed for the rapid detection of Campylobacter coli. This platform was based on the visual loop-mediated isothermal amplification method. Using this system, as many as 64 samples could be assessed in less than an hour after enrichment. 60 meat samples were tested to compare the performance of the HICS platform and other methods. Having the consistent detection result with TaqMan qPCR (Quantitative Real-time Polymerase Chain Reaction), the HICS platform was able to reliably detect C. coli in meat samples, and its limit of detection is 550 CFU/mL and 120 copies/mu L, which was 10-fold higher than that of the PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) method. To conclude, considering that our platform showed robust performance and does not require any expensive equipment, it can also be reliably applied for the high-throughput detection of other pathogens.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: The study aimed to explore the effects of psychological intervention on alleviating anxiety in patients in novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) isolation wards. PATIENTS AND METHODS: Between January 24th, 2020 and March 5th, 2020, 103 patients were studied. Among these, 32 were patients in the isolation ward of the Infectious Disease Department in Baoding Second Hospital with suspected 2019-nCoV, and 71 patients diagnosed with 2019-nCoV were in the Tangshan Infectious Disease Hospital. Of the 103 patients included, 97 cases were observed in isolation. Using a self-control study design, each patient's anxiety was scored on a self-rating anxiety scale before receiving the psychological intervention (on the 7th day of isolation) and after receiving the intervention (on the 14th day of isolation). The severity of anxiety was evaluated based on the anxiety score before receiving the intervention. The anxiety scores before and after receiving the intervention were then compared using the paired t-test, and p<0.05 was considered statistically significant. RESULTS: After receiving the psychological intervention once or twice a week, the anxiety of the patients improved significantly after one week. CONCLUSIONS: The anxiety of patients with 2019-nCoV in isolation wards can be alleviated through psychological intervention. By alleviating patient anxiety, this intervention also helps patients maintain their psychological wellbeing, which promotes rehabilitation and helps with the control of 2019-nCoV.

ABSTRACT

Since the outbreak of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), universities have carried out online education for public health and preventive medicine courses under the policy of "Suspending Classes Without Stopping Learning" launched by the Chinese government. The Public Health and Preventive Medicine Committee of the Ministry of Education Steering Committee for Medical Education investigated the online teaching activities in the member universities. This study presents the survey results, discusses the existing problems, and proposes suggestions for further reforms on mixed teaching activities.
